Interferential 520P Plus Interferential 520P plus

The application of low-frequency electric currents at an appropriate depth in the tissue causes dissatisfaction and pain in skin and surface areas of the patient’s body. Therefore, in order to reduce pain and provide comfort for the patient, there is a need to apply currents with higher frequencies. In the case of interferential or cross-patterned techniques, which typically use four electrodes, two currents with a medium frequency (carrier) are applied to the tissue, which interfere with each other at the depth of the tissue; the result of this interference is a low-frequency electrical stimulation (beat frequency). This technique allows the deep tissues to be stimulated with a low frequency by passing the current through the skin easily and blocks pain signals.

About Interferential

Interferential Therapy (IFT) is a non-invasive treatment in physiotherapy that interfere electrical currents to stimulate the tissue resulting in pain reduction. The device generates low frequency electrical current in body without resistance of skin. Popularity of this method is because there are no side effects and it’s very effective.

Treatment Applications

Some effects of this method are pain relief, increased blood circulation, muscle stimulation, reduced swelling, and improved mobility. The effects of this method can vary depending on the placement of the electrodes, current intensity and frequency. Some of the applications of this method include:

  • Arthritis
  • Edema and inflammation
  • Epicondylitis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Tennis elbow
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Joint injuries
