Ultrasound Therapy

This therapeutic method is non-invasive, effective and FDA-approved used for musculoskeletal disorders. In its probe there’s a crystal with piezoelectric feature that is caused to vibrate by an electric current, resulting in the creation of ultrasonic waves. These waves are able to penetrate deep in tissues like muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints, creating deep heat and non-thermal effects on the tissue. In the thermal effect, when ultrasound waves are transmitted from the device to the skin, they cause adjacent tissues to vibrate, and this vibration produces heat inside the tissues, therefore it increases blood circulation that results in elasticity and accelerated tissue healing and reduced pain. In addition to thermal effects, ultrasound waves are capable of producing energy in the body, which causes small gas bubbles around soft tissue to expand and contract.
